When creating the Khaki Scallop artwork, artist Tory Burke prioritizes experimenting with color and achieving a delicate balance. Tonal geometric shapes are layered, creating a striking contrast with the white scalloped bands on the sides of the artwork. According to Tory, this layering process allows for the observation of how different colors interact with one another, at times causing tension and other times resulting in a harmonious composition.
